A man has been charged with carrying out a bomb hoax following an incident which required a huge emergency services response in Cliftonville.
Kent Police was called to a property in Sweyn Road around 9am yesterday (July 19) following a report of a man making threats to cause damage to the property.

Officers attended and were assisted by Kent Fire and Rescue Service. A man was later arrested at the scene.
A cordon was established and 16 households were evacuated as a precaution during the incident. The cordon was later lifted and occupants were able to return home.
Following an investigation by Margate CID, Tony Gannon has been charged with communicating a bomb hoax.
The 61-year-old, of Sweyn Road, is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 21 July.
