Ramsgate man charged with Folkestone robbery

A man from Ramsgate and another from Dover have been charged with robbery following a quick response by officers in Folkestone.

Kent Police was contacted shortly after 10.15am yesterday (July 11) following a report a man had been robbed of a bag containing cash and documents in The Leas.

Officers from Folkestone’s Local Policing Team, Neighbourhood Task Force and Beat Team attended the area and carried out a search assisted by a police dog and a drone.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of robbery within half an hour of the initial call to the police.

Richard Collins, 39, of Plains of Waterloo, Ramsgate, and Craig Dunn, 30, of Westbury Road, Dover, have been charged with robbery by Folkestone CID.

Both men are due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today.
