Three charged over Ramsgate cannabis cultivation

Cannabis plants in the School Lane building

Three men have been charged in connection with a cannabis cultivation uncovered in Ramsgate last week.

During the morning of Thursday 1 June, a warrant led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate was carried out at a disused commercial site in School Lane.

The building was found to contain some 1,000 plants.

Three men were arrested as part of the investigation and have since been charged with the production of cannabis.

Fabio Maloku and Shkeizen Vata, both 22, and 35-year-old Zylfi Hata, all of School Lane, appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 2 June.

The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court at a date to be confirmed.
