Cable fault causes power cut in areas of Ramsgate and Broadstairs

Power cut

A fault on an underground cable has caused a power outage in areas of Broadstairs and Ramsgate.

UK Power Networks say: “Our engineers have arrived on site in the Broadstairs, CT10 area to investigate the power cut affecting 136 properties.

“Specialist engineers are also working to divert power remotely, and this can cause your lights to go on and off. We know that a power cut can be very disruptive; we understand this can greatly impact your daily activities and we want to support you however we can.

“We’ll update you with all of our progress but if you need to speak to us, call our team on 08003163105 any time.”

According to the UK Power Networks incident map some 275 properties are now affected.

Power is estimated to be restored between 1pm and 2pm.

  1. Seems water leaks and electric brakes are on the increase in thanet. Still as long as the shareholders get a good dividend.

  2. Just remembered, according to a Labour party leaflet I received during the recent elections, Labour will be “Securing Energy Independence by establishing GB Energy, a new publicly owned company, so the country can’t be held to ransom by dictators like Putin” So thats all right then, back to how it was before privatisation.
