Double celebrations for Thanet & District Netball League

Thanet Junior Schools Tournament star players

Awards have been presented to netball players and teams in the Thanet Junior Schools Tournament.

The event this month was the first time the annual tournament has taken place since the covid shutdowns in 2020.

The Thanet & District Netball League organise the event which is sponsored by Thanet Passport and hosted by St Lawrence College in Ramsgate.

TDNL chairman Linda Bushell said: “Big thanks to St Lawrence College for hosting our event. We run our league at their netball courts and they let us use them for this fabulous event.

“The morning ran smoothly and was a huge success. This year we had 16 teams compete for our overall winners cup, our runners up cup and our third placed cup. Every child received a certificate for taking part and every team had a star player.”

Overall star player winning The J & L Nc cup was Liam from Holy Trinity, Ramsgate and overall winning team was St Lawrence College.

Thanet & District Netball League has already held its presentation night for 2022/23.

The annual event is also back after an enforced break during the pandemic.

Linda said: “We had just completed a very successful Summer league 2022 with three divisions and Winter league 22/23 with four divisions and celebrated with this event.”
