Really is this a responsible use of the beach given the noise ,disturbance and environmental pollution caused to an already fragile coastal environment ?
Hasn’t TDC passed and adopted a climate emergency policy Isn’t it about a time TDC and notably labour and green councillors insisted this event took place elsewhere for social and environmental reasons.
Polls apart
Lol I only looked on this story to see how many middle class moans were on here. Surprised it’s just Pols apart lol.
It reminds of that vegan in Australia who got nasty with their neighbours for having bbq’s. Why do these people wish to enforce their life style on others ?
Think the bikes are a good pull for margate but I guess they dont fit in with the arty sector
It works both ways Mr X.
Why should the motorcyclists force their lifestyle on others ?
However, the over-riding issue is that TDC voted unanimously for a Climate Change Policy. Labour and Conservative and the other parties all agreed for once.
Barbecues and petrol generators are banned from the Margate Main Sands – and yet TDC grants consent for two solid days of beach races spewing out exhaust fumes and dripping oil and petrol from hundreds of vintage motorbikes.
As usual, TDC says one thing and does the opposite. You cannot just blame either Labour or Conservative because they are all equally complicit.
John
Does it matter ? Two days a year for some fun. Tdc want an dirty cargo hub at manston so two days a year motorbike event will make very little difference as planes every 15 will be moving at manston blowing any climate policy out the window
I agree with “Pols apart”.
As it happens I’m not a member of the “arty sector” just a local individual with a differing view to yours so it seems. Diesel / petrol guzzling entertainments in these sorts of environments have had their day. There are plenty of other sporting activities or regattas that could take place on these sands that would be a pleasure for everyone.
Not so long ago smoking took place everywhere . Look what a positive impact bans have had on individuals and local business environments.
If you read the article ,some bikes were ev,maybe we should ban ambulances, fire engines, because they are diesel,on yes walk to the hospital and put your own fire out,
Pols apart,
Please, for the love of God go and get a life.
Everyone there was happy and enjoyed the show. And it’ll make zero difference to any of the things you previously mentioned.
Honestly, just sort it. You’re pathetic.
