St Lawrence College Junior School in Ramsgate has been praised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate for pupils ‘excellent’ personal development and ‘outstanding’ attitudes to learning.

The ISI is approved by the Secretary of State to inspect independent schools.

A team of four inspectors visited the junior school in March.

Their key finding were that academic and other achievements were excellent with pupils showing strong literacy skills across the age range and having an outstanding attitude to learning.

Personal development was also found to be excellent with strong social awareness, respect for diversity and pupils being excellent fundraisers.

Head of the Junior School Ellen Rowe said the inspection outcome is: “A wonderful achievement and a tribute to our outstanding staff team and the fantastic children we have at our school. This glowing report will make our whole community feel incredibly proud.”

St Lawrence College Junior School caters for pupils aged 3 to 11 and has 161 students on its roll. Of these 154 are day pupils and seven are boarders.
