New dog park opens at Westwood Cross

Westwoods Dog Park is now open

A new dog park has been opened at Westwood Cross by Thanet business Royal Hounds.

The park, near Primark, offers a safe and secure environment for dog owners and dog walking businesses to use and includes a woodland area, toys, and seating areas. There’s even a sensory area for those extra sniffers.

The park is secured by a 6ft fence, allowing dogs to interact safely and have extra fun making friends.

Maxine Hughes, Owner of Westwoods Dog Park, said: “Dogs are a big part of our families, and it was extremely important to me to open a park that offers safety and security for dogs while off-lead, and provide peace of mind for owners. I am so pleased to be working with Westwood Cross to provide this space, and we’re delighted with the feedback following our opening weekend.”

Francesca Donovan, Centre Manager at Westwood Cross, said: “Westwood Cross is a dog friendly shopping centre, and we are extremely pleased to be working with Royal Hounds to provide our very own secure dog park on site. The centre now offers a fantastic safe space for dogs and dog owners, and we’re looking forward to welcoming more dog families to the centre!”

The park is open 6am to 9pm daily with sessions available to be booked in advance online via the Westwood Cross website. Each exclusive 45-minute booking slot costs £15 for up to 6 dogs.

Sessions must be booked in advance. Book your slot here.

  1. £15 for up to 6 dogs, so presumably £15. If you just take one dog, it would be cheaper for me to take the wife to McDonald’s just saying.

  2. Not getting this at all, £15 to walk 6 dogs??? I know a place where you can walk 12 dogs for free, unlimited time and you don’t have to book.

  3. Nic e idea, wrong place would be better to have a barber/ coffee lounge combined , somewhere for the poor husband to go whilst the wife goes shopping. With tv screens and fresh newspapers comfortable furniture of course.
