Falcons kickboxer Chris Dyas crowned WKO 70kg Area Champion

Champ Chris Dyas

Thanet kickboxer Chris Dyas has been crowned the new WKO (World Kickboxing Organisation) 70kg Area Champion following a win at the Cyclone 13 Show in Essex on Saturday (April 8).

Chris, representing Margate-based Falcons Kickboxing Club, was ready and up for the battle in front of him, just coming from a first-round win two weeks previous at a show in Hastings.

At the Cyclone 13 event Chris was challenging the area title holder and more experienced Sebastian Krawczyk.

First round started with both men trying to find their feet and range, which Chris did very quickly with hard body shots clearly hurting Sebastian.

Round after round the Falcons fighter stuck to the game plan, attacking the body with kicks and punches then moving up when the time was right. However, Sebastian didn’t allow Chris to have it all his own way and caught him with some big head shots which Dyas sucked up and carried on.

Over five, 2-minute rounds this went on for both men, never giving up but Chris was the stronger of the two and received a unanimous decision to be crowned the new WKO 70kg Area Champion.

Instructor Mark White said “I’m so very proud of what my team has achieved putting their lives on hold for 8 weeks prior to the fight. training 6 days a week is not easy. They have shown great dedication and determination and I couldn’t ask for any more which was shown on the night.

“Chris becomes a new champion in the long line of champions we have had within The Falcons Kickboxing Club.”
