Westgate Galleria gets set to host Carol M Creasey book launch

Carol's murder mystery is set in Westgate

Westgate Galleria is inviting members of the public to a Meet & Greet with Herne Bay author Carol M Creasey at the launch of her latest book Murder at Westgate Bay on April 15.

All are welcome to the event which starts at noon. Entry is free.

Featuring locations that will be familiar to Thanet’s community and to the wider East Kent population, the new book is Carol’s tenth novel and the third case for her popular character, Detective Alan Clarke.

The tale follows DCI Clarke, now permanently relocated to the Kent coast after the successful outcomes of his two previous murder cases, as he is settling into his new environment, together with his wife and baby son. Then he is called to solve the cold-blooded and premeditated murder of Dr Ian Jones at Westgate Bay.

The doctor has been sedated and poisoned, dying in agony. DCI Clarke soon has a list of suspects, ranging from the doctor’s estranged wife and her lover, his gambling brother, his housekeeper and her sister. Added to these, Dr Jones’s love child Holly comes into the frame…and then there is a second murder by poison.

Whilst the similarity of the two murders seems more than coincidence, DCI Alan Clarke cannot work out a connection, until a single piece of apparently innocuous evidence comes to light. But is it too late to prevent further murder and loss of life?

Carol says she is looking forward to meeting readers and sharing her story of how she came to be a writer of detective stories based in the seaside towns of East Kent.

Carol has been writing since 1993. She is the recipient of three Reader’s Choice Awards, winning a coveted first prize with the recently republished My life is Worth Living! which is about bringing up her autistic son whilst juggling domestic and career responsibilities. She has also written a very popular autobiography.

Westgate Galleria will be selling Murder at Westgate Bay for £12, offering a saving of £4.95 off the RRP. It can be pre-ordered now from the Galleria website, for collection or delivery from 15th April onwards.
