Man arrested following large police presence at ‘disturbance’ in property in Northdown Road

Six police cars, a police van and, reportedly, a negotiator were in attendance  at an incident in Cliftonville today (March 15).

Officers were called to a report of a man causing a disturbance at a property in Northdown Road, a little way up from St Paul’s, at 9am.

Officers were at the scene for some five hours before a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called to an address in Northdown Road, Cliftonville, at around 9am  to a report of a man causing a disturbance.

“Officers attended the scene and arrested a 28-year-old man from Margate on suspicion of criminal damage and assault. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.”
