Twenty-eight students from St Lawrence College have participated in the long standing and prestigious Thanet, Music, Drama and Dance Festival.
The youngsters entered a wide range of classes across the festival and their performances included verse speaking, poetry composition, prose reading, public speaking, Bible Reading, Acting and Mime.
The festival provided the students with an opportunity to display their skills in communication and performance and they were a rewarded with a significant array of first, second and third places. Students who won trophies for their exceptional performances at the festival will be attending a gala event at The Sarah Thorne Theatre in Broadstairs later this month.
The college’s London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art teacher Kim Bourne, was bursting with pride at the pupils’ success, saying: “I am delighted with each and every one of the students. They displayed such courage, strength, determination and control and my respect for the children couldn’t be greater.”
