World Book Day fun at Dame Janet Primary Academy

World Book Day for Dame Janet pupils

Dame Janet Primary Academy in Ramsgate celebrated a fun filled World Book Day yesterday (March 2) with a visit from Westgate book shop owner Adam Taylor, stories shared across the school and plenty of brilliant costumes!

Children from the upper school visited the younger years to share stories and pass on their love of reading and staff and pupils alike really went to town on their costumes! Shorty’s Nursery even had an elephant and a giraffe visit them for the day!

Headteacher Gemma Sherwin said: “At Dame Janet, we love that our children take pleasure in their reading. World Book Day contributes to us being able to help the children recognise that it’s important to be ‘Readers for Life. Leaders in Life’.”
