Chilton Primary School choir performs at Bellevue pub in Pegwell

Chilton choir at the Bellvue

Young singers from Chilton Primary School were in fine voice to welcome the festive season at a special event at Ramsgate’s Bellevue Tavern.

The Chilton Choir of children from Year 3 to Year 6 were invited to perform at the family event that aimed to bring the local community together for an afternoon of pre-Christmas songs and carols.

Teacher Michaela Gale said: “It was a delightful afternoon as we were joined by parents and pub regulars.

“Our pupils sang many traditional songs and our programme also featured solo performances from some very talented individuals.

“The wonderful Bellevue staff put on a tasty buffet for the children to tuck into after the carol concert to round off a really special musical gathering.”

Head of School Kate Law added: “At Chilton we love to play our part in community events. This lovely festive get-together was a real treat for our young performers – who were perfect ambassadors for our school – and for all of those who sang along and joined in or simply enjoyed listening.”

Chilton Choir is an after school club with music teacher Graham Redwood. The choristers sing at school events including fayres and assemblies.

Next stop for Chilton’s singers is the annual Young Voices spectacular at the 02 Arena at Greenwich in the New Year when they will join thousands of other youngsters to become part of one huge choir.
