Singing, stalls and the all important switch on of the lights welcomed in the start of the Christmas season in Broadstairs yesterday (November 26).
Visitors to Pierremont Park enjoyed Christmas stalls sand music, Santa’s Grotto, food and drink, and the switching-on of the High Street Christmas Lights.
Broadstairs and St Peter’s Chamber of Commerce organised the event which include performances from the Coastal Choir, Inspiration Creatives, St Mildred’s Primary Infant School, Wellesley/Haddon Dene School, Page Mason and the Thanet Male Voice Choir.
Visitors could also enjoy carols be signed.
Mayor Roy Dexter and mayoress Brenda Rogers did the honours with the Christmas lights switch on.
There was also festive fun at the Dickens House Museum over the weekend.
Visitors to the former home of Mary Pearson-Strong, the basis for Charles Dickens’ beloved David Copperfield character Betsey Trotwood, were treated to The Declaimers performing vignettes and children’s’ craft activities.
