Recruitment open days for new specialist stroke rehabilitation unit opening in Margate

Westbrook House

A new  specialist stroke rehabilitation unit for people in east Kent is to open in Margate.

The inpatient unit at Westbrook House in Canterbury Road will provide intensive therapy for people affected by stroke to allow them to get home safely and spend less time in hospital.

The ward will be nurse and therapy-led, with an emphasis on helping patients to reach personal goals.

A team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and dietitians have already been recruited but Kent Community Health Trust is looking to fill several other roles for rehabilitation care assistants, nurses and a clinical sister.

The aim is for the ward to be at the forefront of providing care to help people recover from stroke and continue to live their lives.

The Trust is holding recruitment open days at Westbrook House on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, 14 January from 9am to 3pm.

People can drop-in any time for an informal chat and an introduction to the team. Bring your ID and you could leave with a firm job offer.

Kent Community Health Trust is  rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC. It is signed up to be a real UK living wage employer. The minimum salary KCHT pay is £10.90 per hour (excluding apprentices).
