Armed police units respond to aggravated burglary in Ramsgate

Armed police attended the incident in Avenue Road

Armed officers attended a road in Ramsgate last night following an aggravated burglary where one male was assaulted.

Residents reported seeing some eight police units in Avenue Road.

Kent Police say that at around 8.30pm, two people entered a property in the road, demanding cash from the occupants.

One of the victims was assaulted, and received minors cuts to his face and neck.

Officers attended the scene and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.

  1. Dont think local armed police are news anymore, they do same type of patrolling in our area as unarmed police and often the only police unit available when the rest are busy or on a break.
    Remember the vehicle stopped in canterbury with a load of hooky fuel in plastic containers with a siphon hose, was stopped by a armed response unit on routine patrol.
    The armed response vehicles are easy to identity, the unmarked ones also!
    Parts of E kent have become very violent areas for the public and the local police. Thats why armed response units are based in e kent.
    Rather have armed police than pcso’s, thats my opinion.
