St Joseph’s primary pupils ‘rock’ their times tables

St Joseph's Times Tables Rock Stars

Times Tables Rock Stars have been in class at  St Joseph’s primary in Broadstairs,

Arriving at school last Monday to the sound of Queen’s We Will Rock You, the children settled in with one aim, to thrash their opposition.

The children did brilliantly and out of the 3916 schools that took part, St. Joseph’s came 249th.  St. Joseph’s also came top of all Kent Catholic Schools Partnership schools and its Year 5 class managed to break the 70,000 correct answers target that was set.

A school spokesperson said: “We are very proud of this achievement and a very big well done to all the children who took part, proving how well they can Rock-Out their Times Tables!

“A special thank you goes to Mr Pasola for driving this as under all the fun is the real importance of children knowing their times tables to be able to apply them to all areas of the curriculum, and life.

‘Times Tables Rock Stars’ has been engaging, fun and great for maths!”

Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice with a rock star theme.
