Margate MiCommunity shop to open at new High Street base

The new MiCommunity store

Margate’s MiCommunity social shop will open the doors at its new High Street premises next Tuesday (November 8).

The store has been based in Duke Street since moving its former food bank operation out of Union Church last year. But an appeal was mounted to help with another move following a burglary at its base in August.

The store,  which provides cut-priced food and household goods for people on benefits and low wages, will open at 9 High Street – formerly the Joke Shop and then an art gallery – at 11am on Tuesday.

Margate mayor Heather Keen will cut the ribbon.
