Thanet Sunday League team take on Eastry in charity match for Young Lives vs Cancer

Ramsgate boys Jaxon and Lowen are at the heart of the fundraising match

Team members from Thanet Sunday League’s FC Enoteca will play Eastry FC on Friday to raise funds for the Young Lives vs Cancer charity.

Enoteca club manager Terry Robbins has organised the match with two young Thanet lads at the heart of the fundraiser.

Five-year-old Lowen Cockle, from Ramsgate, has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma and is being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He is currently at home but due to return to hospital next month.

Three-year-old Jaxon Prout, also from Ramsgate, has recently been diagnosed with the disease.

The match is to help the youngsters and others fighting cancer through support from the Young Lives vs Cancer charity.

Terry’s partner June Tyrrell, from Ramsgate, said: “This is a charity that is really close to our hearts. We are supporting local kids and that’s why this is our chosen charity. We want to raise as much as possible.”

June will also be taking on a 50 squats a day challenge throughout November to raise funds for the cause.

The match takes place on Friday (October 21), at Whitstable Football Club’s Belmont ground in Belmont Road, kick off at 8.15pm.

The clubhouse and burger hut will be open. Entry is free but donations are appreciated.

There is a £500 target. All proceeds will go to the Young Lives vs Cancer charity.
