Crews attend fire at property in Westgate

One person has been passed to the care of paramedics for precautionary checks following a fire in Westgate today (October 18).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at a home in Westgate Bay Avenue at 12.41pm.

Two fire engines attended the incident and crews arrived to a fire in the first floor bedroom of the property.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jet and a covering jet to extinguish the fire.

Crews stopped at the scene at 1.23pm. The road was closed while they dealt with the incident.
