Body found in Dane Park area in search for missing Cliftonville man

A Cliftonville man who went missing in the early hours of yesterday (October 14) has sadly been found dead.

A body of a man was found in the area of Dane Park in Margate this evening (October 15) by Margate Coastguard search and rescue and Kent Police officers.

The park was cordoned off while the search took place.

The 43-year-old dad had left his home address in the Walpole Bay area at around 3am yesterday but the alarm was raised after he didn’t show up to work at Iceland in Margate.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “At around 5.30pm Kent Police attended a location near Dane Park where the body of a man was located. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Formal identification has not yet taken place, however the family of a 43-year-old man who was reported missing on Friday 14 October have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”

  1. Sad to hear that Colin has been found dead,I didn’t know his name but recognised him from the photo attached to the missing person post, thoughts go out to his Family friends and colleagues at this time, no one should die alone in a park, RIP Colin
