Warre Rec fire being treated ‘as suspicious’

The park is shut due to the fire damage

A fire at the Warre Rec in Ramsgate last night (October 9) is being treated as arson.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a climbing frame alight at the Rec off Newington Road at 7.40pm. One fire engine attended, and crews put the fire out with a hose reel jet.

There were no reported injuries and KFRS say the cause is being treated as suspicious.

The crew finished at the scene at 8.24pm.

Crews were also called to a blaze at the former Chilton Tavern pub in Ramsgate last night.
