Emergency services were called to a two car crash at Dane Court Road in Broadstairs last night (September 30).
Police, ambulance and fire attended the incident at 7.30pm.
Two people were treated by paramedics and the road was shut from the Dance Court Road/Vicarage Street roundabout while emergency services were in attendance. Firefighters had to cut up a tree that had been brought down during the incident to make the scene safe.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Three fire engines attended the incident and crews used electric saws to cut a tree that had collapsed to make the scene safe. Passengers were passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics.”
The road reopened at around 10.50pm.
the whole of thanet is like a banger racing track , especially around school and work hours, a cup of red hot coffee in one hand and a mobile in the other, we have all seen it.
I don’t know how they get their information but that crash Friday night wasn’t on the Dane Court Vicarage Street roundabout they closed the rd there but the accident was right behind our house which backs onto Dane Court Rd hospital rd.
Thanks Janice. Some info was from police, some from a witness who described it as being by the roundabout, perhaps crossed wires and they meant the closure. Happy to amend
I am surprised there wasn’t serious injuries as the vehicle that left the road and crashed into the bushes hitting the trees looked in a bad way. It was awful weather so this may have been the main reason for the crash, poor visibility and the rain always causes flooding along that road.
I’m pleased to hear the injuries were minor as I was expecting to hear there was a fatality.
