A children’s tale penned during lockdown has been published by Broadstairs grandad-of-one Phil Butler.
The former baker and market trader wrote six books in all and has now had the illustrations completed and published The Adventures Of Riff And Raff: The Day Riff And Raff Become Real Sheep Dogs.
The tale, aimed at three to seven-year-olds, tells the adventures of the two dogs who are sold because their owners think they are not good enough to be sheep dogs. And, of course, the pair prove them wrong.
Phil, 66, said: “I just started the book as something to do during covid and I wrote five others. This is the first one that has been finished with illustrations.
“I have not done it to make money, I just thought I had written them so might as well publish and put them online.
“I am getting on to the illustrator for the other books but do not want to do the whole lot in one go.”
The dad-of-three, who recently retired from a courier job, says all the books feature animal characters and are aimed at the three to seven aged group.
The Adventures Of Riff And Raff is available on Amazon, priced £7.04.
