Imitation firearm seized and man arrested in Ramsgate

A man remains in custody after police were called to a report of a man with a weapon in Ramsgate last night (September 5).

Police, including armed officers and a dog unit, attended at 6.20pm following the report of a man possibly armed in Hereson Road.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was contacted shortly after 6.20pm on Monday 5 September following a report that a man had been seen with a possible weapon in Hereson Road, Ramsgate.

“Officers attended and a 31-year-old man from the Ramsgate area was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm.

“An imitation firearm was seized as part of an ongoing investigation and the man remains in custody.”
