A fabulous day was had by all that visited the annual Brodastairs Water Gala yesterday (July 27).
Events started with the Teddy Bears Picnic at Lillyputt Minigolf with the judging by the Broadstairs & St Peters Town Mayor and Mayoress. A full day of activities and entertainment followed on the beach, in the water, around the bandstand and along promenade.
Despite the rail strike the day was very busy – Simon Abra one of the organisers said: “After a two year gap due to Covid we were delighted to put the Water Gala back on again and see so many happy family groups getting involved in the activities throughout the day.
“Unfortunately though due to an onshore wind we had to make the decision from a safety point of view to cancel the firework display. However, large crowds turned out to enjoy the fairground and live bandstand music from HyperActive who had everyone up dancing in a wonderful atmosphere from start to finish.”
