Scenes of Margate on show at King Street Gallery

Art work by Clare Morton

Twenty paintings of Margate landscapes, harbour scenes and landmarks are on show at King Street Gallery.

Artist Clare Morton is showing the work today (March 16) and tomorrow, The nurse, who works part time in London, has been painting seriously for four years.

She said: “The King Street gallery is a wonderful place. It is also a studio where the manager gives regular art lessons and masterclasses in art. There is a cafe with teas, coffees and snacks.

“The exhibition area is near the cafe so people can see the art exhibits which are for sale. People like my work for the bright colours that the acrylics help to make. There are also some smaller paintings of Margate’s sunsets and harbour scenes.”

The King Street Gallery, at 11-13 King Street, is open from 10am to 5pm both days.
