Emergency crews were called to Ramsgate last night (March 13) after vehicles were deliberately set on fire – reportedly by someone with a blow torch.
Two cars were destroyed in the blaze in Leonard’s Avenue, by College Road, and an attempt was made on a van.
Fire crews arrived at the scene at 10.25pm. A fire service spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to two vehicles alight in College Road. Two fire engines attended and crews used foam and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

“No casualties were reported. It’s believed the fire was started deliberately. The scene was left in the care of Kent Police.”
A Kent Police spokesperson added: “Police were called to the College Road area of Ramsgate at 22.29pm on Friday, March 13 following a report of vehicles on fire. Enquiries are ongoing and the crime is being treated as arson.”
