A teenager has been arrested in Ramsgate by officers investigating reports of drug dealing in Thanet.
Officers were on patrol in the area when they made the arrest after pursuing the 18-year-old male on foot in Hereson Road last Thursday (January 16). A package containing suspected Class A drugs was recovered by officers at the scene.
The teen, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and has been released under investigation.
Officers would like to identify a member of the public who helped to detain the man but left without speaking to patrols. They are asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/9693/20.
Witnesses who may have seen something suspicious in the area between 1pm and 1.45pm on Thursday are asked to come forward as well.

The police should just hang around Boundary park, they can catch the dealers and the ones supplying them.
They could also start stopping and searching some of the kids on mopeds in Thanet as there is a large network of dealers based in Ramsgate who operate from mopeds. The Ramsgate moped dealers are making thousands every weak from dealing drugs.
The police are well aware of whats going on where, they could arrest loads of offenders in very short order. But the rest of the criminal justice system is unable to deal with the numbers or have a meaningful way of dealing with them, so its all pointless as the majority of those arrested will be back on the streets within a day or so.
So the police don’t arrest those involved, instead they only get involved when it leads to violence or serious antisocial behaviour/ disorder.
I was talking to a recently retired officer at the weekend, the upshot was that the likelihood of a troublemaker having a knife means that its very risky anyone intervening in an incident , as a result very few do, choosing instead to leave it to the police, who as we all know are very thin on the ground. In their opinion society has pretty much lost control of its streets when it comes to petty crime and drug dealing, even robbery and muggings have little chance of being resolved.
When you’re out at night count the number of cars that have defective lights, there is very little chance of being stopped and dealt with so many just don’t bother maintaining their cars properly.

The problem with not arresting these young drug dealers is that because they get away with it they then start thinking they are above the law and move on to committing other crimes. I am personally sick of seeing All these feral kids playing gangsters and continuously getting away with their criminal activities. Apparently crime does pay in Thanet.
I gave Crimestoppers the reg number of a moped who was dealing in Ellington Park – I’ve given up reporting online to 101 when I’ve got photos of the deals happening too.
Its so hard because our young people are vulnerable to these low life parasites.
Your not the only one who has reported these moped gangs and nothing gets done about it. Crimestoppers are just as useless as the 101 number.
It would be interesting if the Isle of Thanet news could actually interview a high ranking police officer or official from Thanet police to see why nothing is being done about the moped/teenage drug gangs in Thanet. These drug gangs are involved in a lot more crime than just drugs and drug driving.
There just isn’t the police and resources to deal with these crimes, along with traffic offences, burglary, violent crime, domestic, etc, etc. It’s not just Thanet, it’s everywhere. The Government that gets voted back in time after time just has no interest in the country, crime, NHS or anything else unless it is something that makes themselves money of course.
If the culprit is “no fixed abode’ why was he released ?
