DJ Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, and singer Suggs from huge 70s and 80s Ska band Madness will be  on Margate seafront in a retro Dreamland ice cream van today (January 20) giving away 100 tickets for a huge new festival at the park this Summer.

The pair are in town for the announcement of the two day Hi Tide festival which will have a massive 15,000 audience capacity and comes from the creators of the sell-out Demon Dayz Gorillaz gig in 2017.

Fatboy Slim and Madness headline the festival at Dreamland Margate July 4-5. It is being staged in association with Fifty Six Group.

As a highlight of Dreamland Margate’s 100th birthday celebrations, the event will see DJ Fatboy Slim bring his full stage extravaganza, plus supporting acts, to the park on July 4.

On July 5 purveyors of quality music since 1979, the legendary Madness, will bring the festival to a close with a full supporting bill.

Suggs and Fat Boy Slim will personally give away 100 weekend tickets and then will sell day tickets on a first come first served basis from the van between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

Tickets go on sale publicly at 9am on Friday, January 31.

Prices

Saturday or Sunday (individual day tickets) £72.50 each plus booking/transaction fees for priority entry on Saturday or Sunday inclusive of unlimited rides

Weekend tickets £130 plus booking/transaction fees for a priority entry weekend ticket (Saturday & Sunday) inclusive of unlimited rides

The supporting bill will be announced next week.

  1. What’s the current capacity at Dreamland? By the Sea stopped using the venue due to capacity reductions. Have the operators learnt their lessons in respect of toilet /bar/food provision. Whilst its likely many will be relatively local visitors is their any advice / help being offered to those who may be seeking accomodation for the weekend. Fingers crossed it proves to be a well run sell out event.

  2. Only £130 a ticket per person or £73 per person for one day. That’s right folks ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY POUNDS.

    JOKES

Guess that’s the locals fucked over again. Nice one dreamland.

  3. It’s the going rate to be honest. I just googled Fatboy Slim live and you can see him (just him) on 31st Jan for £60.72. I then googled Madness and the cost to see them (just them) in Gloucestershire? £58.20. £73 (or £65 per day if you go both days) for a day-long festival featuring multiple artists, in 2020, is pretty good value to be honest.
