Plea to find asthmatic Morty a new home

Could you give Morty a new home?

TAG pet rescue is desperate to find a permanent home for a cat whose asthma has proved a stumbling block to getting him adopted.

Morty is TAG’s longest stay resident after coming into their care in June 2018, He is 6-years-old, neutered and looking for a quiet home.

He came to TAG through no fault of his own following the break-up of his owners’ marriage.

TAG say Morty is a very sweet natured, gentle and undemanding boy who could live with another cat but not dogs or children.

Morty has asthma so he needs daily medication – this is just a pill crushed and mixed into his food so giving it to him is no trouble. TAG will pay for this medication. He needs to have vet check-ups at Eagle Vets three or four times a year.

A TAG spokesperson said: “Many people have expressed interest in Morty but have been worried by his asthma and put off from adopting him.

“Daily steroid tablets stop him from having any asthma related problems so providing he has his meds new owners will not have to worry about Morty having an asthma attack. He’s a shy boy and takes a while to warm up to new people but I have rarely met a cat with as good and gentle nature as Morty. He will take a while to settle into his new home but once settled he is a real pleasure to have around.”
