Officers investigating a reported rape in Margate during the early hours of Sunday (December 1) say “no evidence of any offences taking place has been established.”
The area was taped off by officers while investigations were carried out and a man from Margate was arrested.
He has now been released without charge.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police has fully assessed the circumstances following a reported rape in Poets Corner, Margate, on Sunday 1 December and no evidence of any offences taking place has been established.
“The arrested man has been released without charge. Should any further information come to light this will be fully investigated.”
