Kent Fire and Rescue have tackled an industrial storage fire in Minster.

Firefighters arrived in Monkton Road at around 3pm  after a plume of smoke was seen issuing from the container which is said to contain waste materials.

Nearby residents were advised to close their windows and doors as a precaution.

Crews used a fog spike and cold-cut firefighting system to reduce the temperature inside the container before fully extinguishing the blaze.

There are no reports of any injuries and the cause of the fire has not been established.
