Open School East Associates are to host their final show, The Reception Was Brilliant.

Rosie Carr, Jemma Cullen, Emily Demetriou, Elouise Farley, Rhona Foster, Laurène Gitton, Holly Hunter, George McGoldrick, Annie Nichols, Harilay Rabenjamina, Bryony Rose, Connor Sansby and Jules Varnedoe will be featured.

The work, and performances, are being shared at the Percy Gore solicitors building at 39 Hawley Square, Margate, from November 30-December 4, noon until 6pm. A preview night takes place on November 29 from 6pm.

The show celebrates a year of collaboration by Open School East Associates with  public workshops on everything from social cohesion to Mesopotamian clay tablets, sessions with young artists of Cliftonville through the Despacito Art School, and a film project with members of East Kent Mencap GOLD and learners from the Adult Education Centre.

The group has also worked with Genetic Moo, Clayspace Studios, Hot Meals Now community canteen, the OSE Young Associates, and many others.

An ‘extra-accessible’ day will take place on December 2 with filtered lighting, lower sound levels, limited numbers of people within spaces, and extra invigilators throughout building. There will be free refreshments and friendly faces.

An accessible Screenings of ‘A Night to Remember; the World Turned Upside Down’ and  the ‘making of’ mini-film, and Rhona Foster’s film ‘Me and my friends’ at Hot Meals Now Canteen will take place at the Margate Adult Education Centre, also in Hawley Square, at 7pm on December 2 .
