Dig into local history at Trust for Thanet Archaeology open day

Open day

The Trust for Thanet Archaeology will hold a fundraising open day at The Antoinette Centre, Quex Park, Birchington on Saturday (November 23).

The event, between 10am and 2pm, offers the chance for visitors to have a chat, share local history stories, look through books, archaeology magazine publications, reports, photographs and handle some finds and artefacts from Thanet.

There is no charge for attending, but a donation towards the ongoing care of artefacts, Pop Up Museum and future community education work delivered by the Trust for Thanet Archaeology is appreciated.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

The Trust is run by a group of volunteers, some with expertise in archaeology and education and some with a strong interest in learning about archaeology. It is funded by income from education activities, sales of local publications and from public donations. The Trust is also supported by a grant from the Education Committee of the Kent Archaeological Society.
