Ageless Thanet: The 50+ Festival is back

Ageless Thanet

The annual Ageless Thanet 50+ Festival is being held on Sunday, November 3, at St George’s School in Broadstairs. Doors will be open from 10am-3pm, and all ages are welcome. This is a free event to come along to, to find out what is available for people over 50 living in Thanet.

With free taster sessions such as Tai Chi, Japanese Drumming, FitSteps, Boccia, Hula Hooping, Boxing, to name just a few, it’s promising to be a fun-filled day. There will also be special performances from our very own Ageless Thanet Choir and Ukulele Group. A huge variety of stalls will be showcasing what they have to offer residents of Thanet who are 50+.

Stagecoach has kindly agreed to put on a shuttle bus service, running to and from the venue, from the Westwood Cross Bus Hub. The service will be running continuously on the day, with the first bus leaving the hub at 9:45am and the last bus leaving the venue at 3:30pm. The shuttle bus is completely free to everyone of all ages, and there is no need to show a bus pass.

There will be some fantastic refreshment options available on the day, including Ministry of Pies and Bessie’s Tea Parlour who will be bringing a touch of nostalgia to the event with their homemade food and drink. We also have Thanet Scouts who will be doing a “Sausage Sizzler” to raise money for their trip to Eurojam in 2020.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank: All Seasons, Caremark Thanet, Carers Support East Kent, Dumpton Park Nissan and Stagecoach South East for their contributions in supporting this event.
