Pink themed netball tournament to raise cash for the fight against cancer

The Timber Wolves

Twelve netball teams, plenty of fancy dress and an abundance of pink will be in evidence tomorrow (September 8) at a charity fundraiser.

The Thanet netball league teams will play the rotating games to raise cash to help in the battle against breast cancer at the Viking Day Unit at QEQM Hospital.

The cause was chosen in support of player Kelly Todd who has recently been diagnosed with the condition.

Kelly, who plays for the Timber Wolves – aka Todd’s Tarts – is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

There will be 12 teams of up to eight players. Each team will bring a prize for a raffle also being held on the day. Further prizes have been donated by isle businesses.

People are welcome to go and cheer the teams on.

The event takes place at Hartsdown Academy in George V Avenue, Margate, from 10am to 2pm.
