It may have been blowing a gale all day today but that did not put off the colourful crowd taking part in the Margate Pride parade.
Onlookers lined the route to support the procession which wound its way from Walpole Bay Hotel in Cliftonville to the seafront.
Attendees included Sundowners bar with a huge float, fire crews, police, Oasis domestic abuse service, Save Our NHS in Kent, Thanet Labour Party, Thanet Greens, celebrated LGBTQ+ activist Peter Tatchell, the RNLI, local ‘celebs’ Maurice Morris and Wilfred Jenkins and many more.
Colourful, creative, glamorous and wacky outfits were on show as people enjoyed the party atmosphere.
There are still events taking place for the Pride celebration including Mel C, backed by the Sink The Pink Spice Gurls at Dreamland from 7pm-11pm and a night of music and partying at Sundowners.
Tomorrow revellers can recover in the beautiful surroundings of the Walpole Bay Tidal Pool which will host the its gay pool party.
