Police enquiries after teenage girl frightened by approach of men in car in Ramsgate

Police officers are investigating a ‘suspicious incident’ in Ramsgate after a teenage girl was frightened by an approach by two men in a car today (August 5).

The youngster was in Manston Road when a white car pulled up alongside her. It is reported two males inside the car, one driving and one in the rear passenger seats, then drove behind her when she ran away and eventually hid in bushes.

Kent Police confirmed the incident has been reported and officers are carrying out enquiries.

A police spokesperson said: “At 12.35pm Kent Police received a third-party report of a suspicious incident on Manston Road, Ramsgate.

“It was reported that a teenage girl was walking on the pavement when a vehicle stopped beside her and the driver looked in her direction.

“No offences were reported but initial enquiries into the incident are underway.”

A friend of the family has posted to social media to urge youngsters to be vigilant.
