Rogue traders steal £1,000 from elderly Birchington man

Rogue traders warning

Police are investigating after bogus callers stole a case containing £1,000 from an elderly man in Birchington today (August 2).

Kent Police was called at 11.39am to the report of burglary in Minnis Road.

The victim reported that two men attended his house claiming to be from the same company that carried out some work on his home the day before.

They claimed the house needed further work and he needed to pay them more money. He went inside the house and was followed by one of the men who then took a briefcase containing about £1,000.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident.
