Newest members of Chilton Primary School take first steps on their school adventure

The newest members of Chilton Primary School in Ramsgate have met for the first time at a special picnic for the new Reception class.

Raring to start their new school, the group of youngsters were full of beans as they played on the school’s bouncy castle.

They also had the chance to get involved in a range of activities and play with games and toys, before tucking into sandwiches and soft drinks.

The get together on the school field saw children quickly make friends, team up and play together.

Reception class staff were on hand to welcome them and their families as they took their first steps on their new school adventure.

Assistant Head of School Hannah Cheshire is Head of Early Years.

She said: “It was amazing how soon they started chatting and playing.

“Creating a bond before the summer break in readiness for September is very important.

“It means that the children already have experienced the Chilton feel good factor before they officially start – and when we see them in September they will feel at ease with their surroundings and familiar faces of the fellow pupils and the Reception team.”

Chilton Primary School is part of the Viking Academy Trust, together with Upton Junior School and Ramsgate Arts Primary School.
