Police appeal after report of sexual assault on teenager by Cliftonville park

Police are investigating the assault

Officers investigating a reported sexual assault in Cliftonville are appealing for information.

The incident happened near to the Viking adventure playground off Ethelbert Crescent around 7.30pm on Saturday, May 25 and was reported to police just over a week later.

A girl in her mid-teens came forward with information that she was walking through the park when she was approached by a man who took her to his vehicle, parked in Ethelbert Crescent, and touched her inappropriately.

She described him as a white man, aged between 40 and 50, with grey short hair, slightly balding, tall, clean shaven and of medium build.

A number of enquiries have been carried out in order to identify the person responsible and CCTV has been reviewed. Officers would urge any witnesses or anyone who noticed something suspicious in the area to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/106739/19.
