Margate primary school gets set to celebrate 80th anniversary – but needs help to solve a mystery first

St Gregory's will mark its 80th anniversary

A Margate primary school is getting set to celebrate its 80th anniversary – but is hoping for help to find a previously buried time capsule.

St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School believes the capsule was buried at a school celebration in either 1988 or 1989, but thy don’t know where.

A school spokesman said: “We would love to find the capsule and add to it – however nobody at the school knows where it is!  An appeal has been put out to parents and ex-pupils, but so far we have no leads that have led us to the missing capsule.

“Somebody out there must know where it is buried.  We would love to hear from anyone who can point us in the right direction.”

The 80th anniversary celebrations will take place on Friday, 12 July with a school museum, music from the decades since 1930 and a family picnic for all.
