Cliftonville pupils end term with Roman performance

Mini gladiators at Cliftonville primary

Year 3 children at Cliftonville Primary marked the end of their work on the Romans in style with a fantastic performance to parents.

After taking part in a Roman themed workshop at the beginning of term where the children got to dress up, handle Roman coins and act as gladiators, the pupils then learnt about Roman life as well as designing and making their own Roman shields.

They shared their learning with their parents on Thursday morning in a special assembly that involved marching to Latin commands, forming a “tortoise” and singing.  The performance was well attended by parents who were all impressed with the children’s knowledge and confidence.
