Police to carry out ‘initial enquiries’ after young boy found wandering in Garlinge

Police are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances after a young boy was found alone outside Costcutter in Garlinge.

The child, thought to be around three-years-old, was found at about 8.20am. Police officers then carried out a door knock in the area to find his parents. His family has since been contacted.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to a shop in Canterbury Road, Margate at around 8.20am to a report of an unaccompanied young boy.

“Officers attended the scene and, having spoken to the boy, identified his parents. Initial enquiries are being carried out to determine the circumstances of this incident.”

Update: The boy is now with his mother.
