Two fire engines and the British Red Cross have attended a property in Margate.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire that had started in furniture in the garden before spreading to the ground floor at the property near Elham Close at 4.07pm.

One person was given a precautionary check for the effects of breathing in smoke.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a main jet, hose reel jet and hydrant to extinguish the fire. There were no reported casualties. British Red Cross provided support to the occupants of the property.
