Police continue search for missing Cliftonville resident Steven McKay

Kent Police is continuing to appeal for information to help find a man missing from Cliftonville.

Steven McKay, 35, is last known to have been in the Norfolk Road area at around 7am yesterday (March 5).

Ramsgate and Margate’s inshore lifeboats as well as Coastguard helicopters were  tasked at 10.25am yesterday to help with the search for Steven who was suspected to be in the water between Ramsgate Main Sands and Botany Bay.

Townsend Montessori Port Regis nursery in Convent Road, Broadstairs, locked the doors while police carried out their search in the area but this was a precaution and not under police instruction.

District Commander, Chief Inspector Lara Connor said: “My officers are continuing to search for Steven and are making enquiries in the area.

“We are very concerned for his welfare and I would urge anybody that sees him or knows where he may be to call the appeal line immediately.”

Steven is described as being white, 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and speaks with a Scottish accent. When he went missing, Steven was wearing a black hooded top, tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
