Children can listen to the tale of Woblin at Monkton Nature Reserve

Lauren Busby and her debut children's book Woblin

A reading from new Thanet children’s book Woblin will take place at Monkton Nature Reserve tomorrow (February 21).

Author Lauren Busby will also hold a Q&A with the youngsters,

The book was released in November and celebrates the power of kindness and friendship, how we are all different and appreciating who we are on the inside.

Illustrated by Margate’s award-winning Alex Foster, Woblin is an uplifting children’s rhyming story with strong moral messages throughout.

Focusing on a character by the same name, Woblin, previously ridiculed and driven to exile due to her physical appearance, meets a young boy who has also been teased. Together, they embark on an adventure, which leads them to discover the importance of what’s inside and the value of helping others, giving them both the new-found inner strength and sense of self-worth they had been missing.

A signed paperback copy of Woblin will be available to buy on the day for £11.95. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to the nature reserve. The £2.50 entrance fee also goes to the reserve, too!.

There are two Woblin reading sessions from 11am to 12pm and then1pm to 2pm
