Security marking day for horse riders and stable owners to be held in Ramsgate

Security marking for riders and stable owners

Horse riders and stable owners are invited to get their tack security-marked as part of an event being held by Kent Police in Ramsgate later this month.

Organised by Thanet PCSO Amy White, the Equine Crime Prevention evening will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and is open to all those who own or ride horses.

Officers from the Kent Police Rural Crime Team, as well as local officers and partner agencies, will be on hand to talk about the work they carry out to keep the area safe.

Advice on keeping your livestock, tack and premises secure will also be available.

During the evening, representatives from Kent Horse Watch will be security-marking items of tack for a small fee. Bring along any items you wish to be security-marked.

PCSO White said: “We are looking forward to welcoming members of the local equine community to discuss how we can support them to secure their properties and keep their horses safe.”

The event will be held in Newington Community Centre in Princess Margaret Avenue.
